We are excited to introduce our Shoebox family and share our journey into creating our devoted program Shoebox Doxies. My name is Cathy and our family are Dachshund enthusiasts. My husband of over 34 years is right by my side raising our precious puppies and dogs. We have two amazing daughters, spoiled by our Dachshunds as we spoil them, as well as many other family pets.

The Dachshund breed has been very special and close to my heart since my first Dachshund at the age of seven. She was a short-haired red named Heidi. Since then, my husband and I have had over 15 Dachshunds throughout our marriage.

 Approximately ten years ago I encountered my first cream dachshund and knew immediately that I needed to find one of my own.

 

Over the next few years of searching, I found a breeder close enough for me to meet. That's when I met Chelsea of Dreamheart Dachshunds and fell in love with her breeding program. I got my first male, named Bailey, from Chelsea and I quickly became friends. After spending time together and learning about confirmation and the breed standards, I started our own program. After six years of mentorship, we have produced beautiful puppies for families across the Gulf Coast.

We look forward to sharing this amazing breed with others in hopes they will love them as much as we do!
